Because we are on the subject of prophecy, I will share some prophecies about the first coming of Christ.
We celebrate the birth of Christ at this time.
Was this prophesied in the Old Testament?
Yes, it was.
Isaiah 7: 14Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.(NKJV)
Fulfilled:
Matthew 1: 20 . . . an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”(NKJV).
We were told in the Old Testament that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem:
Micah 5: 2“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting.”(NKJV)

He was!
Matthew 2: 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
5 So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,(NKJV)
Back in the Old Testament we were told that children would be killed enmasse:
Jeremiah 31:15 “A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.” (NKJV)
They were:
Matthew 2:16Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. 17Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying:
18“A voice was heard in Ramah,
Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
Refusing to be comforted,
Because they are no more.”(NKJV)
The prophet Isaiah wrote almost 700 years BC:
Isaiah 9: The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, . . . By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, In Galilee of the Gentiles. 2The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.(NKJV)

It happened!
Matthew 4: 12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
15“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles:
16The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned.”(NKJV)
This same prophet Isaiah also wrote:
Isaiah 9: 6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.(NKJV)

We know this prophecy was fulfilled in part back then, and will be completed at His second coming.
The Child that God the Father gave to us humans 2000 yrs ago is His only Son. We are given His names/titles in this Scripture :
Wonderful
Counselor
Mighty God
Everlasting Father
Prince of Peace.
We believe He is all of these.
There will come a time very soon when there shall be no end “Of the increase of His government and peace.”
He will establish a rule of sound judgment and justice which will never end. We were told He will sit upon the throne of David. The angel Gabriel announced this to the virgin Mary:
Luke 1: “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”(NKJV)
It too shall be. This was only the start of the fulfillment.
As I have noted before, more than 350 prophecies were fulfilled during Jesus’ first coming . . . why would the rest of prophecy not be fulfilled?
The first time Yeshua (Jesus) came as a helpless Baby fully Human, having set aside all divine power. He had to do this in order to complete His mission on the Cross. He had to be perfectly sinless as a Human without any divine assistance so that He could die a sinless death and gain victory over death/ hell/and the grave. However . . . this time . . . He will come as a conquering King!
Revelation 1: 7Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
8“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”(NKJV)
He said it and it will be! Just as He said!!

Please do remember that real Christians do not celebrate December 25 as the birthday of Christ because historically Jesus was born on October 17 4BCE and December 25 is the birthday of the goddess of light and as such aheaten or pagan holy day.
