The Lord is Come

Today, whatever the World situation, Geographics, National boundaries, Politics and political philosophies, conflicts, race, color, gender, riches, poverty, trials, wars, rumors of wars . . . let us set aside everything and pause to reflect upon the birth of a little Baby. Sent 2000 yrs ago from Heaven above, born in a lowly stable, placed in a humble manger, this Baby Boy came to and did change the World.

Today, I do not want to discuss our differences, I want rather to speak of our common human condition. Today I wish to reflect upon our common need for comfort in times of trouble, in times of pain, in times of hunger, in times of hurt and rejection, in times of loneliness, in times of fear, in times of sorrow and tears, in times of hopelessness when all seems lost.

Today I want to reflect upon the common need for love. A love that warms us, surrounds us and gives us assurance, a sense of safety, of belonging, being part of a family, being accepted even with our flaws.

Today I want to present to you “The Love of God,” sent from Heaven by the Father to bring us into His family. I will not give you a lengthy sermon, nor quote a lot of Scriptures, I just want you to know God loves you, and that is why He sent His only begotten Son to come to Earth to save us from our sins. Jesus came for the express purpose of dying on the Cross. His death was not a tragedy but a triumph, His burial a fulfillment of prophecy, His resurrection a victory over death, and His ascension an open door for us to enter Heaven.

Only one thing is required to become a part of this family of God the Father Himself. That is to understand and accept that the sacrifice Jesus made was not for Himself, for He was without sin, but for you and me. Sin never had mastery over Him, but it has always had mastery over us since Adam and Eve. We need to be set free from the curse of sin which holds us captive and keeps the doors of Heaven barred to us.

Today, I only invite you to see the Love of God so strong and so powerful that it conquered Death and Hell through the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, and opened wide the gates of Heaven to receive us through and ONLY through placing our faith in Him as the Messiah, the Savior.

No Big Sermons, just an invitation to pray a simple genuine prayer from the heart:

“Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I come to You as I am, for forgiveness. I accept Your Love for me and ask that you receive me as Your child from this moment on.

Thank You for loving me so much that You took on Human form to conquer sin as a Human and die in my place on the Cross. You did not deserve to die, I did . . . for the penalty of sin is Death and Hell. But you took my place and paid the price.

Thank You Lord Jesus that through your resurrection, You defeated death, and by placing my faith in You, I also am victorious over death. By Faith, I believe I will rise to Heaven and dwell with You forever in Heaven as Your child.

Death could not hold you, and now I know, because I am Yours by faith, it cannot hold me as well. Help me from hereon to walk as Your child. Change my heart so that I am transformed from within to follow You and live a life that is clean and pure.

Thank You Lord for receiving me.”

If you wish to know My Lord, just read the above prayer with a sincere heart, and that, my friend is all it takes to become His child. Nothing more is needed. You can choose and use your own words to pray as well. The above is just a sample. It is from my heart that I prayed asking Him to make me His, and to change me from within. That was 45 years ago. He has never failed me, nor forsaken me. I am His and He is mine. I am part of His family, and you can be also.

Today, this Christmas, can be a New Day for you, wherever you are. There are NO preconditions. I would say that if you do pray, please try to find a Bible, which is His written Word, so you can learn more of Him, and get to know Him. Find a good Bible teaching Church, ask the Lord to lead you to people who believe. Ask Him to not let you be deceived by false teaching. He will.
