Holy Trinity Seminary . . . Part IV

The Master’s Class

Rev. Sudha Mehta©

Today, in my final session on the topic of the Holy Trinity Seminary I would like to show you a photo essay. It is long but I think you will like it.

These pictures are available free of cost on the web. They demonstrate my point wonderfully. I am grateful that God anointed others to take these pictures and make my work easier. May His blessing rest upon them.

Back then Jesus called out to those that would follow Him. His class looked different than it might today.

He used every opportunity to teach, every moment, every place, every incident in their daily lives was designed to be a class. In Ceaserea Philippi, at the place that was known as the Gates of Hell, Jesus asked:

Matthew 16: 13 When Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in the heavens.(JB2000)

A declarative statement at the best place possible, serving notice to the hordes of Hell! Great opportunity, great lesson! The Son of God came to teach:

He was always teaching!!

This is the same Jesus who is our coming King! He told us that He would come an set up His Kingdom on Earth, and He will . . .

The classroom looks different today for each of us. We no longer are just twelve disciples or even a few hundred! Thankfully, the disciples learned well, and with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit they got the Word out far and wide, so that we have the same knowledge they did.

We are many, yet each one of us has the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit who teaches, guides, directs us in the same way they (the disciples) learned. How richly He has provided!

So, our classroom may look like:

Sunday at church . . . whether your church is a tiny house church, or a big fancy building or anything in between . . .

You are still in class with the Holy Spirit, wherever you are. You may be a student or a teacher . . .

Or anything else.

My professor once said in class: “Every situation in your life is a classroom situation. It is for you to learn the lessons God wants you to learn.” I took his wise counsel and have lived it for many decades!

Finally, a huge part of our classroom learning and teaching has to do with raising the next generation of disciples:

Psalm 127:3 See, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.(AKJV)

Children are the heritage of the Lord . . . Think about it!

If the next generation had not been valued by Jesus, I doubt we would be speaking of Him now many generations later. So when you raise your children, make their classroom be anytime, anywhere, doing anything:

Deuteronomy 6: 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: 7 And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 And you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9And you shall write them on the posts of your house, and on your gates.(AKJV)

This lesson has not changed, it continues today for us.
