He Knows Your Name Too!

Dr. Livingstone was a missionary to Africa. you may have heard of him.
The story is told that one day as he was going up a steep hillside, a man joined him and started walking alongside carrying a huge burden on his back. They chatted as they walked a bit, and Dr. Livingstone asked the man what he was carrying. The man replied, “It is your burdens! I am carrying this load on my back for you,” and then he disappeared. Dr. Livingstone understood in that moment that Jesus had appeared to him in his hour of need to remind him that He is our burden-bearer.

Matthew 11:28 28 Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”(BSB)
At this point I must recognize that once I accept it as established Truth that God is Omniscient, Omnipresent, and Omnipotent, and yet . . . that He cannot lie, I must face yet an inviolable truth about myself. That Truth is this: I have been given by this God the sole power over all my choices. What I do with this knowledge is mine to determine.
Selah! The Psalmist said often. It means “Think about this!” or “Meditate on this!”
Put some thought into this : He knows me by name, He knows every intimate detail of my life. He is privy to things that are not known to anyone else, YET, He gives me the RIGHT to choose! Every time I choose to dwell or act on some emotion, believing my emotion, rather than His Truth and instruction, I make my own truth, and do not stand on His!
You may think you have little to offer Him. I have news for you. None of us do! Whether you have little personal wealth, or a lot, it is immaterial. Whether you have accomplished little or much, it is equally immaterial.
Some of you may be waiting to clean up your act, make some money, get healthier, stronger, acquire material goods, educate yourselves, accumulate degrees, do good works, give to the poor, be great philanthropists, perhaps you want to do much for the church, give great amounts of money to build great monuments . . . it will never bring you closer to God. He is entirely unimpressed with who you are, what you have accomplished, how rich you are, how much gold you have in the safe, or money in the bank, your 401k, your vacation homes, your cars . . . naaaah, not impressive.

Your mirror may loooove you, and make you smile at your reflection . . . not impressive to Him.
Your wardrobe may be the grandest, you may look like a million or even a billion, wearing your Armani suits, driving your red Ferrari, sporting those fancy sunglasses, chic. . . quite chic by Earths standards. Sipping your favorite drinks by the infinity pool may make you very popular among your peers, but to Him . . . naaaah! . . . . It means nothing!
Since this blog is being viewed around the world, I will include in this everyone who lives around the world that has a lot of money, jewelry, even furs, silks, whatever suits you fancy, if you are seeing this blog, understand, to God, your riches mean nothing!
James 5:1 Come now, you who are rich, weep and wail for the misery to come upon you. 2 Your riches have rotted and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and consume your flesh like fire. (BSB)
OOPS! Tough one, isn’t it!!
Then there are those of you that feel you have amounted to nothing therefore you are worthless, in your own minds! You feel He couldn’t care less about you!!
You think you are not rich enough, smart enough, educated enough, pretty enough, handsome enough . . . ! Get a hold of yourself. It is true you have nothing He values in terms of Earthly valuables! Just the same as from the rich, the smart, the beautiful, the educated!

Instead He tells you:
Job 34: 19 Who shows no partiality to princes
Nor regards the rich above the poor,
For they all are the work of His hands? (NASB)
You are ALL loved equally!
His value system is just different from yours! He wants your heart! Simply put . . . That is what He is after. Your Heart, love, devotion . . . so you would know how loved you are!!
He doesn’t hate you for what you have or don’t, He just loves you regardless or what own or don’t!
You catch my drift??
Galatians 3: 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 Now if you are of Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to the promise.(BLB)
He makes no distinction whatsoever based on anything. Gender/race/rich/poor . . . all are equal at the foot of the Cross. Citizenship in Heaven does require a Passport. The Passport for EVERY BELIEVER IN CHRIST simply reads: Child of God ______ , your name filled in the blank!
The standard of Heaven is quite different from that of Earth dwellers.
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One. 5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts.(BSB)
For all you New Testament lovers He repeated the same in:
Mark 12: 29 Jesus replied, “This is the most important: ‘Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’(BSB)
All He wants is your heart!!
You have all the myriad reasons why you doubt, He answers them ALL with His love demonstrated by His sacrifice!
What God wants from you is simple! One thing only!! Your heart! Your heart fully given . . . that’s it!
Bring your heartaches, failures, depression, anxiety, rage, aggression, hatred toward anything or anyone, loneliness, fears, phobias, panic, helplessness, disappointments, feelings of rejection, drunkenness, PTSD, and whatever other diagnosis you may have been given, addictions, even suicidal notions . . . to HIM. He wants you to place your burden upon His back. He offers you His peace in return:
John 14: 27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.(NASB)
Philippians 4: 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.(NASB)
In return for a genuine commitment from your heart, He offers all of His love, care protection, peace, provision, guidance, and so much more.

Proverbs 3: 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
8 This will bring healing to your body
and refreshment to your bones.(BSB)
