It so happened I was watching a YouTube video with my husband who never tires of collecting knowledge in his brain. This time the video was on the intricate workings of cells in the human body. It was fascinating! I knew immediately I to write a Part II to my previous post “Who am I?”

Now I am no scientist, so trying to write like a scientist would only make me appear very foolish. Besides, you all can pull up the same videos on YouTube if you so desire. So I will write as a child of God instead who remains in awe of God my Creator for how marvelously He made me (and you).

Once again, you will see “Whose am I?” determines “Who am I?!” In addition, I had a revelation I will share.

Did you know that the average human body is made up of 37.2 TRILLION cells. We are talking average now. Size, shape, age are variables but the average is 37.2 TRILLION cells. Here is one link that gives a simple understanding of this:

How much is ONE Trillion? If I stacked up ONE Trillion single dollars how high would it be? Each dollar is only .0043 inches thick.

Below is the calculation according to math-mom.com

The stack of ONE TRILLION dollars in miles:

10,000,000,000 * 0.004 inches = 40,000,000 inches

1 mile = 5280 feet
1 mile = 5280 feet * 12 inches / feet = 63,360 inches

40,000,000 inches / (63,360 inches/mile) = 631.31 miles

In kilometres:

10,000,000,000 * 0.1 mm = 1,000,000,000 mm

1,000,000,000 mm / (1,000,000 mm/km) = 1000 km

So if ONE TRILLION in 1 dollar bills is ~ 1000 km or 631 miles, how much more is 37.2 TRILLION?

Again, noting that I am no scientist, nor a math- mom, I am simply in awe!

I recognize that each cell is microscopic and much, much thinner and tinier than a dollar bill. In my mind that becomes even more wondrous that my God could make something so fine. Only God! My very average body carries 37.2 TRILLION cells that work in perfect harmony because the GREAT I AM (JESUS) made it so! Remember His Name is I AM (Exodus 3:14)

Then I see that each cell carries 23 pairs of chromosomes, twenty-two being the same in the Male and Female, and the twenty-third being different in that the Female carries the X while the Male carries the Y.

It gets even better, each cell has a nucleus and in the nucleus is the DNA ribbon. You might think of a nucleus as the yolk within an egg. Each DNA ribbon in the nucleus is about 6′ 6″ long. That is one ribbon. 

A ribbon that you cannot see with the naked eye, a ribbon so thin, so microscopic yet it carries your signature perfectly . . . or, should I say: the Signature of the MOST HIGH GOD!!

Now hold on to your hats: add up the total length of DNA ribbons carried in all the 37.2 Trillion cells, lay it out lengthwise, and it would be about 24 miles long. This DNA defines me  . . . my health, history, temperament, biological history, family traits . . . in short, all my identity is carried in this DNA, enough so that if given the rights, I can be cloned.

So, here it is: I am a mass of about 37.2 TRILLION cells. The cells are different kinds, with different functions, each dependent upon other cells to perform. One article I read says there are 200 types of cells in each human body. The number of Nuclei is also the same 37.2 TRILLION for each cell has one. Each cell carries the DNA ribbon, all totaled at about 24 miles. The DNA is alive and functional in each cell. Each cell works like a factory carrying out all kinds of function to give my body life.

 

Each organ works together in coordination with others to keep me healthy and strong. Each organ is dependent on the blood supply which carries the oxygen, breathed in through the nostrils or mouth to the lungs and then dispersed to the rest of the cells. The blood carrying oxygen is pumped by the heart with a rhythm that is constant. The brain carries the central command to send orders through the body. The nerves send the signals as they receive them from the brain.

I am no doctor or scientist . . . I am a simple Bible Teacher. My takeaway from this is a simple awestruck exclamation! . . . “AMAZING! . . . Lord, Your Handiwork is awesome!

I am part of His Creation as are you. I look at the expanse out in Nature and in the skies and say “AMAZING!” only to be reminded to look at His creation of a single human and repeat”AMAZING!” Knowing just so very little all I have to do is look in the mirror, or better yet, look at a newborn baby and say “AMAZING GOD!!”

And in absolute awe, I say I know the answer to “Who am I?” This is the revelation I have from Him:

I AM A DEMONSTRATION OF HIS POWER, HIS GLORY, HIS OMNIPOTENCE!! AND . . . SO ARE YOU, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU CARRYING 37.2 TRILLION CELLS LIVING AMONG SEVEN BILLION PLUS HUMANS AND COUNTLESS ANIMALS. WE ARE ALL DEMONSTRATIONS OF HIS OMNIPOTENCE!

Now, I understand there is a Creator who lives far above 700 Quintillion planets, and yet is everywhere. He made the earth to be a special place among the 700 Quintillion planets as a Life-sustaining place, upon which He placed seven billion plus humans and countless animals, birds and fish, and in each of the living creatures He placed Life to be carried in the blood (Leviticus 17:11) in that the blood circulates the oxygen. He made each of these seven billion plus humans with special care each carrying 37.2 TRILLION cells and hence carrying 37.2 TRILLION nuclei in which 6’6″ length of DNA ribbon is carried, making 24 miles of DNA in each human defining the humanity of the individual.

He made the animal world with different cells, but also so very AMAZING!

Now, the scientist comes along and says, “We all evolved from amoeba, to become animals and then eventually to become humans. ”

In other words, from “goo” to the “zoo” to “you (and I)!”

I say to the Scientist, “I am sorry, but I don’t have THAT much faith! Mr. Scientist, if you think I am just “ignorant,” let me assure you, the more I learn of things of Science, the more I will stand in awe of my Creator. If you believe such intricate things as cells are a workmanship of “chance” and “evolution,” then you have greater faith than I do.”

It takes a lot to believe I came from “goo,” by way of the “zoo”.” It is so much easier to believe there is a Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent God, who is the Creator, and all this complicated stuff was made by His design!

I believe the Bible where the Word tells me I am a descendant of Adam and Eve, and SO ARE YOU!!

Yet in addition to this the Bible tells me that every human is a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body. So you and I are a three part being. The visible body is described above, yet in simplistic terms this 37.2 TRILLION cell body only makes a house for our spirit carrying a soul. While on earth, this body is our home.

The spirit is eternal and the soul is the part that carries the emotional and mental part. All you think and feel is in your soul.

When we die, and last I checked the death rate was still a whopping 100 percent, we all leave this body behind and move to another location. The spirit leaves with the soul to the location . . . THAT YOU CHOOSE! How great is that?! Yes, you will remember, I have said many a time, Life is choices and it is all about the free-will God has so graciously given us. He will not have robots worshiping Him.

So, when you choose to give up this amazing body our Creator has made, you go where you have chosen to go. The choices are only two . . . no more and no less. Heaven or Hell!

Jesus said:

Matthew 7:13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.(BSB)

He identified Himself as the Gate and the Way in:

John 10:9 I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture.(BSB)

John 14: 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.(BSB)

I circle back to the question: “Who am I?” I know who I am is who He made me, and seeing that I have accepted Him as my own King, Lord and Master, I know when I leave this 37.2 TRILLION cell body and leave this Earth populated by seven Billion humans and countless animals, my spirit with my soul will rise past the 700 Quintillion Planets and go home to Heaven to be with Him.
